A bit about you
Since I was a little kid, I’ve always been fascinated by the field of engineering. The decision to apply to Oxford was an easy one, as their program was a seamless match for my interests and the way I thrive academically.
What was your favourite part about the engineering summer school?
One of my favorite aspects of the engineering summer school was the hands-on projects. It was incredible to have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge we learned in lectures to practical, real-world scenarios. Working in teams, we would tackle engineering challenges, design prototypes, and test our creations. The projects allowed us to think critically, problem-solve, and apply engineering principles to find innovative solutions. It was incredibly rewarding to see our ideas come to life and witness the impact they could have in various fields. The collaborative nature of the projects also fostered meaningful connections with my peers, as we worked together, shared ideas, and learned from one another. It was a truly immersive and enriching experience that solidified my passion for engineering and provided a glimpse into the exciting possibilities that lie ahead in the field.
How did it help with your Oxbridge engineering application?
Attending an engineering summer school showed that I was proactive and motivated in my pursuit of knowledge and skills. It demonstrated that I was willing to go above and beyond the standard curriculum to explore my interest in engineering. Being the trailblazer in my family, I embarked on the journey of pursuing engineering without any prior knowledge of what to anticipate. Considering my sister’s pursuit of art at Oxford, it felt like a natural progression for me to aspire to study there too!
