I’m very lucky that my parents always supported my dream to go to Oxford. They found out about Oxbridge Mind and thought it would be a good opportunity for me to practice my interview skills. I’m so glad they did that for me as I’m not sure I would have been so successful at my interview otherwise.

My tutor’s interview practice and mock interview sessions were very realistic to the real thing and helped me understand the interview style which was different to anything I’d experienced before.
A bit about you
Coming from a widening participation background and state school it was terrifying to think of the competition for Oxford places. I arranged some mock interviews with Oxbridge Mind to try and ease my nerves.

I was impressed with the quality of tutoring and the speed that a mock interview was arranged. My tutor was a current Chemistry student and I felt like he gave me insights that I couldn’t have found elsewhere. Very pleased – thank you!
A bit about you
My teachers had been pushing me to apply for Oxford because of my GCSE grades but I never imagined myself there. I have always done well at school and I absolutely love the sciences, but in my head I had pictured Oxford students as something unattainable and perfect. I’m glad I applied in the end as I know couldn’t imagine studying anywhere else.

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?
My tutor was great at explaining the process but also making it all seem real. He was so “normal” and un-intimidating that it made me realise that I did belong at Oxford – it isn’t reserved just for geniuses! I’d say that this boost in confidence made all the difference to how I came across to the interview panel.
