A bit about you

When you’re applying to Oxford or Cambridge it can feel like you have the expectations of the world on your shoulders. The minute I even expressed an interest it was suddenly all my family and teachers wanted to talk about. I was so worried about letting people down. I know that ultimately it was only me that could decide the outcome, but other people’s expectations did add to the pressure.

How did you find the programme?

I saw Oxbridge Mind on Google, as well as some other companies but I went with Oxbridge Mind because of the trial lesson offer.

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

I was impressed with the level of support. From the start I had advice on college choice, then personal statement and preparing for exams. The final hurdle was interview, and this is what I was most nervous for! My tutor worked through some practice questions and helped me get to the bottom of my nerves.

A bit about you

I wasn’t always convinced that Oxford was for me. None of my family have been to university before and I went to a very run-of-the-mill state school. In my head, all Oxbridge students came from a very different and privileged background and would be miles ahead of me before I’d even began. Now I’m at Oxford I can tell you for sure this isn’t the case – don’t be discouraged if you’re like me!

My school luckily did some research on my behalf and found Oxbridge Mind.

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

I really identified with my tutor and it pushed me to really go the extra mile in my preparations. He was really supportive and I’m so glad I had the chance to be tutored by him.

A bit about you

I spend a lot of time reading the news and economics at university appealed to me because of its relevance in virtually all areas of life, across all areas of the world. It sounds cheesy but one day I hope to have a positive impact on the world and I truly believe economics is the way to do that. And where else would you want to start your career than Cambridge?

I was directed to the website from a Google search.

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

First of all, I loved connecting with a tutor who had the same passionate for economics as me. They were so knowledgeable about the subject it inspired me. They also knew so much about the application process and gave me solid advice and practice for each and every step.
