LNAT: Oxford and Cambridge Preparation

A bit about you

I decided I wanted to study Law after a talk from a lawyer who came to my school. My teachers suggested I looked at Oxbridge but coming from a state school I didn’t know anyone else who had any experience of applying to Oxford or Cambridge. I was lucky enough to be able to visit Oxford and instantly decided that I wanted to study there.

How did you find the programme?

I wanted to get advice from someone who had been through the application process so searched on Google. A few different companies came up but I decided to go for Oxbridge Mind because of their online self-study course. I liked the idea of having resources I could look through in my own time.

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

The best thing for me was having a tutor who had studied Law at Oxford at the college that I wanted to apply to. He answered all of my questions and gave me such a good insight to both the course and the lifestyle of an Oxford student. I also really liked having the practice question bank that I could work through in-between my tutor sessions.

A bit about you

I’ve always been quite academic and had a dream about studying at Cambridge from a really early age. I was probably about 11 when I first started researching it! When the time came to finally apply I was so nervous as I felt like my entire life had been building up to the application. I’m so grateful to have a place at Cambridge and want to thank Oxbridge Mind for all the work they did for me.

How did you find the programme?

I think I first found the site through their YouTube channel because I was searching for advice.

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

It was very reassuring to be able to work with Oxbridge law tutors who were experienced and gave me a lot of encouragement. I ended up having two tutors due to a unpredicted change in my schedule, and was pleasantly surprised that both tutors ended up being lovely. It helps that every tutor uses the same resources because if you ever have to change, the new tutor can pick up exactly where you left off before.

A bit about you

I’ve always been a bit of a problem-solver so law seemed like a natural fit from me. I’m lucky enough to have a family friend who’s a solicitor and they let me do some work experience with them which confirmed it for me. Although now I want to try and become a barrister!

How did you find the programme?

My school actually recommended it as previous students have used the online lessons before.

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

It definitely helped! Having someone there who had been through the process meant that I could share my worries with them and they completely understood. I was much more confident in the end.
