    A bit about you

I knew I wanted to study at Cambridge from when I was very young, and when I got top GCSE scores, I started to think seriously about applying to Cambridge.

How did you find the programme?

My sister found the course online and suggested I give it a go. I had been struggling to get high enough ESAT scores at that point, so thought a tutor could be helpful.

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

The tuition was excellent, and having the same materials across both my tutors was really helpful.

    A bit about you

I wanted to apply to study at Cambridge as a mature student, but having been out of education for so long, I didn’t want to do the application by myself.

How did you find the programme?

It was just fantastic. The tutors were excellent, and all the resources were incredibly useful. I really appreciated my tutor helping me to weave my life experience into the Interview answers and finding ways to link that to Cambridge .

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

I think it really did. It made me much more confident about applying and that I was a good candidate for Cambridge.

    A bit about you

I knew I wanted to go to Cambridge, but as an international student, I didn’t want to risk doing the application myself, and although my school offered some help, none of my teachers had been to Cambridge themselves so I wasn’t confident they would be able to advise me well.

How did you find the programme?

A friend of mine used their other company, Medic Mind, a few years ago to help with his Medicine interview and then started working for them as a tutor. He was the one that recommended Oxbridge Mind to me and I started right away.

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

Definitely. Being in Singapore meant that I needed lessons to be flexible in my time zone, and the tutors were able to do that for me. I used a lot of the online resources as homework and self study materials, especially before my ESAT.

    A bit about you

I attended an outreach programme at Oxbridge when I was in Year 9, and decided then that I wanted to study there. I settled on Cambridge when I was in Year 11.

How did you find the programme?

I was getting good enough ESAT scores in my practice, but I was nervous about the Interviews and not very confident in writing a good enough Personal Statement. I was able to address these concerns using the Oxbridge Mind programme.

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

It just helped me to better understand what they were looking for in a candidate and how to best show that I was that. The Personal Statement review was useful, and I actually ended up getting 3 checks done in the end, because I kept being given so many notes and I wanted to check I had done it correctly.

You might have some questions before booking your first lesson. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for in the FAQs, feel free to contact us!

What is the ESAT Admissions Test?
The ESAT (Engineering and Science Admissions Test) is an exam serving as the pathway to admission for engineering and science-based subjects at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London
How many sections are in the ESAT?
The ESAT places a significant emphasis on Mathematics as a mandatory section. Furthermore, candidates are required to complete two sections from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or additional Mathematics (depending on their chosen course), with each section allotted 40 minutes for completion. Each section comprises 27 multiple-choice questions.
How long is the ESAT exam?
The ESAT consists of five sections, each being allocated 40 minutes to complete. If candidates finish early, the time will not be carried forward to the next section so you need to plan your time accordingly. The entire length of the ESAT exam will depend on which course you are applying to and how many sections you are required to complete. Please see the university websites for more information.
    How is the ESAT scored?
Scores are given for each section of the ESAT test and range from 1 (lowest) to 9 (highest). The scores will be reported to one decimal place. There is no pass/fail ESAT score.
How is the ESAT used in my university application?
Results will be submitted to the university and will be used alongside other parts of your application. There is no minimum score requirement for candidates at this point.
How is the ESAT different to the NSAA/ENGAA?
The ESAT has superseded the NSAA and ENGAA. While the content is largely similar, it is important to note that the exam specification has changed slightly, with some topics no longer being assessed and new content areas being added. You can see the ESAT specification on the official website.
What are the ESAT test dates 2024?
Candidates can sit the ESAT exam on the 15th or 16th October 2024. Candidates also have the option of sitting the exam on the 7th or 8th January 2025 although it should be noted that this is not applicable for students applying to the University of Cambridge.
When can I register for the ESAT 2024?
Candidates can register for the ESAT from 1st August 2024 via the official testing website: ESAT Registration 2024
