Magdalen College was founded in the 15th century by the Bishop of Winchester. At the time, the foundation was the largest in Oxford, and this continues to ring true till date with Magdalen set across 100 acres of ground and educating approximately 600 students. Although the College is far from the centre of town, it is the closest College to the University gym and sports facilities. Magdalen College is able to offer accommodation for all undergraduates for every year of their study alongside extensive sports facilities and big grounds to encourage extracurricular activities.
