Financial support

King’s College has hardship funds available for students experiencing unforeseen financial difficulties.  There are also prizes, such as the Rylands Art Prize, James Essay Prize and the Susie Gautier-Smith Prize available for excellence in a variety of subjects and categories.  UK students with disabilities can apply for a Disabled Students’ Allowance to support themselves in their studies.

Accommodation

King’s College offers accommodation to all undergraduate students for the duration of their course.  Most of these rooms are on the main college site, with the remaining rooms in blocks located a few minutes’ walk from the site.  Rooms vary in size, shape and age, with all rooms fully furnished.  All students have access to shared kitchen facilities as well as central laundry rooms.  Rooms range from £1280 per term to £1916 per term.

King’s College also offers rooms to all graduate students where possible, guaranteeing at least 2 years of accommodation to each student.  All rooms are fully furnished and located a short distance from the College’s main site.  Rooms range from £1550 per term to £2365 per term.

Sports

Students can take part in a range of sports at King’s College including volleyball, cricket, football, kayaking and many more.  There are a range of tennis courts, squash courts and playing fields all a short distance from the College.

Welfare

The College has its own nurse to provide advice and treatment.  There is also a Mental Health Advisor, as well as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to provide services to support mental health.  Students can also receive both academic and non-academic from their personal tutors or their Director of Studies.

Miscellaneous
  • The College has an Art Room exhibit by students and local artists, as well as classes on drawing and digital art.  King’s also has a Dark Room, providing chemicals and equipment for printmaking.  This is free of charge for Art and Photography Society members, giving students a fantastic opportunity to explore their passion of photography
  • King’s College has several gyms available for syudents to make use of, including a multigym with cardiovascular and resistance equipment, as well as a gym with free weights
  • There are several areas for King’s College students to unwind and relax, with outside areas such as Chetwynd Court and the Fellows’ Garden open to students at any time
