What is PPE?
Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) is an increasingly popular degree at Oxford. Moreover, PPE at Oxford is a very broad degree, and in the first year students gain an insight into each of the three subjects before having an option to drop a subject from second year onwards. Additionally, each subject is taught through a mixture of lectures and small group tutorials, enabling students to discuss politics or philosophical topics with some leading professors in the field.

| What is PPE at Oxford? | PPE at Oxford, is a mixture of Philosophy, Politics and Economics. However, you are able to choose from multiple different disciplines with PPE at Oxford, such as Sociology or International relations etc. Studying philosophy helps you to develop your generic graduate skills. It also allows you to think critically and with logical rigour. Studying politics in terms of PPE at Oxford helps you to understand and develop an opinion on modern and previous political views. This further leads to evaluate and examine concepts used in political analysis Finally, economics brings together the ideas in philosophy and the views in politics, so students start to understand the government decision and policy making. |
