Admission Test for Mathematics at Oxford | MAT+ Interview Mathematics Admissions Test- taking place on Wednesday 2nd November 2022. This is based on familiar A-Level Mathematics concepts from the first four terms and encompasses both multiple choice and long form questions. This is a two and a half hour long exam with 7 questions total. Candidates will also have to answer 5 questions based on what subject they are applying for. |

Structure of Mathematics Course at Oxford | Year 1 – Students learn a variety of subjects including Algebra, Analysis and Geometry amongst others. Assessment is in the form of five written exams alongside Computational Mathematics projects. Year 2 – students take a compulsory set of core subjects including Algebra and Metric spaces. They can also choose from a selection of other topics. Assessment is in the form of three core papers and six optional papers. Year 3 and 4 – Students can choose from a large variety of topics that go into greater depth than previously explored. In Year 4, a dissertation is compulsory. Examinations are in the form of eight written exams for both years. Teaching is in the form of around ten lectures, three tutorials and additional practical sessions each week. |
