    Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by the intricate dynamics of global affairs. Growing up in a multicultural environment, I witnessed firsthand the power of diplomacy and cooperation in shaping our world. This ignited a burning desire within me to understand the complexities of international relations and contribute to creating a more peaceful and prosperous global community.

    What was your favourite part about the international relations summer school?

    My favorite part of the International Relations summer school was undoubtedly the stimulating and thought-provoking discussions that took place during the seminar sessions. The opportunity to engage with fellow students from diverse backgrounds and share our perspectives on global issues was truly enlightening.
    Each day, we delved deep into various topics such as international security, global governance, and diplomatic negotiations. The passionate and knowledgeable instructors guided us through complex theories and real-world case studies, encouraging us to critically analyze and debate the intricacies of international relations. It was inspiring to witness the different viewpoints and approaches that emerged from our discussions, fostering a vibrant and intellectually stimulating environment.

    What was your favourite part about the International Relations summer school?

    The summer school provided a unique platform for us to exchange ideas, challenge each other’s viewpoints, and explore complex global issues together. It was inspiring to witness the passion and intellectual curiosity that each participant brought to the table.
    One of the highlights of the program was the simulation exercises, where we simulated diplomatic negotiations and crisis scenarios. These exercises allowed us to apply the theoretical knowledge we gained in a practical setting, honing our negotiation and diplomacy skills. It was a thrilling experience to step into the shoes of diplomats and engage in intense debates to find diplomatic solutions to various global challenges.

    How did it help with your Oxbridge International Relations application?

    Being able to speak to the International Relations students gave me confidence when writing my school application. I had so many experiences to talk about in my personal statement and interview and I felt really prepared when talking to the admissions tutors.

The Oxford International Relations Summer School will commence on Monday and finish on Friday, with students being able to take advantage of 6 nights of accommodation nearby from the Sunday evening.     We offer a summer school for different age ranges. Want a year 12 International Relations summer school? Check out our 16-18 Oxford Summer School, tailored for students who are about to apply in the current year or will be applying the year after. If you are looking for a summer school for 14-16 year olds, please contact our advisors and we'll be happy to help.

    → Will I receive a certificate or academic credit upon completion of the programme?

Additionally, you will spend some time at Oxford University with current international relations students to get a feel for what it's like to attend Oxford.
    How will this programme benefit my future International Relations studies or career?
    Every phase of your application process will benefit from our Oxford summer school for international relations, you'll discover. Your personal statement should express how your experiences have strengthened your desire to study international relations. During your interview, you will think back on your experience, and you'll put the information you learn to use as soon as you start studying international relations!
    → Are international students eligible to apply? If so, are there any additional requirements?
    Absolutely! We can arrange airport transfers and accommodation if you are joining us from abroad. You will need to double-check with your government body as to whether you will require a visa to travel. If you are unsure or would like support in organising this, please contact our advisors and we would be happy to help!
    → What is the policy for refunds or cancellations if I can't attend after registering?
    When you register for our International Relations summer school, you will be asked to pay a £500 non-refundable deposit to secure your place. We do understand that circumstances may arise which could mean you are unable to attend your chosen date. If this is the case, please contact our advisors who will be able to advise you as to whether you are able to amend your date. Please note however, due to the high demand in places, this may not be possible.
