A bit about you
I’ve been captivated by the complicated workings of the judicial system and its significant influence on society since I was a child. What brings me to Cambridge is the ability to dive further into the complexity of law and obtain a full grasp of its concepts.
What was your favourite part about the law summer school?
The ability to engage in vigorous arguments with fellow participants was one of my favourite aspects of the Law Summer School at Cambridge. The intellectual stimulation provided by debating hard legal issues in a collaborative setting was wonderfully energising. Hearing other viewpoints and engaging in thought-provoking debates that challenged my own understanding of the law was intriguing. These arguments not only improved my critical thinking abilities, but they also developed a feeling of community among us aspiring lawyers.
How did it help with your Oxbridge law application?
The practical skills development component of the summer school, which included activities such as mooting competitions and mock trials, helped me to improve and display my advocacy skills. Admissions committees at Oxbridge Colleges value practical experience and the ability to think critically, thus participating in these activities at the summer school really helped my application.
A bit about you
I’ve always been interested in the pursuit of justice and the complexity of the judicial system. This drive, together with my steadfast goal to make a good difference in society, prompted me to select Cambridge as the appropriate university to complete my legal study.
What was your favourite part about the Law summer school?
The practical part of the summer school stood out for me. Participating in mock trials and moot court contests helped me to apply legal ideas in a realistic courtroom context. This practical experience assisted me in developing important advocacy skills such as legal research, compelling arguments, and effective communication. It was immensely exciting to watch my progress as I polished these practical abilities throughout the programme.
How did it help with your Oxbridge Law application?
The programme provided me with the opportunity to exhibit my true interest in and attention to the profession of law. Admissions committees at prominent colleges such as Oxford and Cambridge want applicants with a strong love for their chosen subject, and my involvement in the summer school demonstrated my dedication to obtaining a legal degree.
