Worcester College was founded in the 18th century and is known for its 26 acres of beautiful grounds featuring numerous green spaces, ducks, an orchard, and the College sports field. The College values welfare very highly and has a number of avenues of support for College members with any kind of problem. There are generally 3 bops a term, where two take place in the college bar, and the third takes place in a club. Other regular social events include themed evenings, comedy nights, and charity auctions amongst other events.

Societies | The College has a wide range of societies. There are many subject-specific societies that typically meet termly to invite guest speakers and organise trips. There are a variety of recreational societies, including Chess, Poetry, Open Mic and more! Jesus College also welcomes students from all faiths and there are places of worship for members of any denomination in Oxford. There is a Chaplain and a Chapel choir. Additionally, discussion groups and confirmation classes are held regularly. As well as this, there are over 300 university societies you can join. |
Accommodation | Accommodation is provided by the College for all years of your undergraduate study. All first years are offered accommodation on the main College site and for subsequent years, it is offered either in North Oxford or East Oxford, both a short bike ride from the College. These are flats with shared bathrooms, and the East Oxford location offers flats for married students or students with established partners. More information can be found here. Lunch and first-sitting dinners operate on an informal, self-service canteen-style system and these can cost approximately £4.65. Second-sitting dinner is a more formal 3-course meal and is approximately £7. Students can choose whether or not to eat at the College. |
Sports | Jesus College has many sports teams that students can get involved with. Amongst the sporting facilities are hockey fields, cricket, football and rugby pitches as well as grass tennis courts and a boathouse. Students also have access to the university swimming pool, athletics stadium, and gym. |
Welfare | Students are encouraged to register with the local NHS medical practises who, additionally, supply two College Doctors and hold an in-house surgery bi-weekly during term-term. There is also a College nurse who holds a surgery all week at Jesus College. Tutors, College Advisors and College Officers are available for consultations on personal problems and there is a counselling service, provided by the University, who can offer expert help. The common rooms have their own welfare officers and peer support systems to help students with issues ranging from student health, welfare and finance to disability support. |
