    A bit about you

I knew I wanted to study at Oxford from when I was very young, and when I got top GCSE scores, I started to think seriously about applying to Oxford .

How did you find the programme?

My sister found the course online and suggested I give it a go. I had been struggling to pass Oxford Interview at that point, so thought a tutor could be helpful.

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

The tuition was excellent, and having the same materials across both my tutors was really helpful.

    A bit about you

I wanted to apply to study at Oxford as a mature student, but having been out of education for so long, I didn’t want to do the application by myself.

How did you find the programme?

It was just fantastic. The tutors were excellent, and all the resources were incredibly useful. I really appreciated my tutor helping me to weave my life experience into the Interview answers and finding ways to link that to Oxford .

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

I think it really did. It made me much more confident about applying and that I was a good candidate for Oxford.

    A bit about you

I knew I wanted to go to Oxford , but as an international student, I didn’t want to risk doing the application myself, and although my school offered some help, none of my teachers had been to Oxford themselves so I wasn’t confident they would be able to advise me well.

How did you find the programme?

A friend of mine used their other company, Medic Mind, a few years ago to help with his Medicine interview and then started working for them as a tutor. He was the one that recommended Oxbridge Mind to me and I started right away.

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

Definitely. Being in Singapore meant that I needed lessons to be flexible in my time zone, and the tutors were able to do that for me. I used a lot of the online resources as homework and self study materials, especially before my Oxbridge Interview.

    A bit about you

I attended an outreach programme at Oxbridge when I was in Year 9, and decided then that I wanted to study there. I settled on Cambridge when I was in Year 11.

How did you find the programme?

I was getting good enough scores in my practice, but I was nervous about the Interviews and not very confident in writing a good enough Personal Statement. I was able to address these concerns using the Oxbridge Mind programme.

How did it help with your Oxbridge application?

It just helped me to better understand what they were looking for in a candidate and how to best show that I was that. The Personal Statement review was useful, and I actually ended up getting 3 checks done in the end, because I kept being given so many notes and I wanted to check I had done it correctly.

    Frequently Asked Questions

You might have some questions before booking your first lesson. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for in the FAQs, feel free to contact us!

Are there any personality, work experience or extracurricular based Economics questions at the Oxford Interview?
To prepare, think about what you would say if asked questions like "give an example of a time you demonstrated teamwork/initiative/overcame a problem," "biggest strength/weakness," "hobbies outside of the classroom," and so on. According to the Oxford website, while interviewers may enquire about extracurricular activities, they will not be used to judge your performance unless they help to showcase selection criteria for the specific course you are applying for.
Are there any academic or challenging Economics questions at the Oxford Interview?
Most of the Oxford Economics interview was made up of difficult academic questions. For example, the first question discussed a fundamental economics problem (relating to the Laffer curve). After that, they showed an equation and asked to draw it and explain why it had that shape. Then they wanted you to determine the best tax rate to maximise revenue - this was simple differentiation. It may seem less structured after that, and more focused on various aspects you mentioned in your answers.
What is the interview setting and how long is it?
Your interview will last approximately 25 minutes. 5 minutes of general questions (such as "why Oxford," "why economics"), followed by a 20-minute discussion. There was also time at the end for you to ask your own questions, but this was not included in the interview.
    How do Oxbridge Interviews work?
Selected candidates will be interviewed online. What is the interviewer looking for? The admissions committee will consider your enthusiasm for Oxford, as well as your mathematical knowledge and abstract thinking ability.
Who are the Oxbridge Mind Interview Tutors?

When should I start my Oxford Economics Interview Tuition?
It takes time to prepare for an interview, which can be difficult given that Oxford only provides 10-14 days' notice. We'll proceed at the rate dictated by your interview and preferences.
How many hours of Oxford Economics Interview preparation do I actually need?
