Worcester College was founded in the 18th century and is known for its 26 acres of beautiful grounds featuring numerous green spaces, ducks, an orchard, and the College sports field. The College values welfare very highly and has a number of avenues of support for College members with any kind of problem. There are generally 3 bops a term, where two take place in the college bar, and the third takes place in a club. Other regular social events include themed evenings, comedy nights, and charity auctions amongst other events.

Robinson College is found on Grange Road in the centre of Cambridge and is located near Clare Hall College

Financial support

Grants are available to cover academic expenses such as conference fees, thesis printing, travel etc for each postgraduate student up to £250.  There are also further grants for language courses, student activities such as sport or music and a Sporting Achievement Fund for students who display excellence in sport.

Accommodation

Robinson offers all undergraduate students accommodation for the duration of their course.  All students have their own room, with just over half of the total rooms also having en-suite facilities.  All rooms are fully furnished with access to shared kitchen facilities.  Rooms vary from £1440 to £2205 per term.

Robinson College also offers accommodation for postgraduate students.  Again, around half of the total rooms available have en-suite capacity.  Most postgraduate students are situated in the complex on Sylvester Road a short distance away from the main College site, which comes equipped with kitchen and laundry facilities.  Rooms vary from £5810 to £8765 for the year.

Sports

Students can make use of an expansive sports ground less than a mile away from the main Robinson College site.  This includes pitches for rugby, hockey, cricket and football as well as courts for tennis and squash.  There are also several sports grounds a short distance away with athletics facilities, as well as a Boat Club on the river Cam.

Welfare

Students can contact their Personal Tutor in the first instance or a welfare matter, as their Tutors can provide academic, personal and financial advice and support.  Directors of Study can help with an approach to academic work and support students in developing necessary skills to thrive.  The College Nurse and Counsellor are also on hand to aid students with both their physical and mental wellbeing.

Miscellaneous
  • Robinson College supports its students’ artistic endeavors, with several student-led art exhibitions displayed.  These included a number of oil paintings, pencil drawing and sculptures submitted by undergraduates, postgraduates, staff and fellows all contributing
  • Robinson  College regularly displays performances of drama and music, with the Maria Bjornson Theatre providing students with the opportunity to see a multitude of stories told on stage
  • The buildings at Robinson College are notorious for their use of handmade red bricks.  As such, the College was included in a list of ‘50 most inspiring buildings in Britain’ by The Daily Telegraph
