Worcester College was founded in the 18th century and is known for its 26 acres of beautiful grounds featuring numerous green spaces, ducks, an orchard, and the College sports field. The College values welfare very highly and has a number of avenues of support for College members with any kind of problem. There are generally 3 bops a term, where two take place in the college bar, and the third takes place in a club. Other regular social events include themed evenings, comedy nights, and charity auctions amongst other events.

Financial support

Emmanuel College has Hardship Funds available for students with financial difficulties.  There are also grants for travel and research purposes.  Emmanuel College students who take a language course at the Cambridge University Language Programme can have half the course fees subsidized by the College.

Accommodation

Emmanuel College provide all undergraduate students with accommodation throughout their time at Cambridge, with over 400 rooms on the College site. First year students live in North and South Court.  These are single rooms, with students sharing bathrooms and kitchens with up to 4 other people.  Second and third years live across the other accommodation buildings, ranging from rooms in the Old Court to en-suite rooms found elsewhere on the site.  Weekly room rents vary from £138.30 to £216.30 with laundry, cleaning, heating, lighting, insurance, wi-fi and catering all included.

There are over 100 rooms for postgraduate students, with all new postgraduates offered accommodation for their first year.  Postgraduate accommodation is located both within the grounds of the College as well as around central Cambridge.

Sports

Emmanuel College has a range of sporting facilities available for students.  On the College site, there are 2 squash courts, a table-tennis room, a gym and an open-air swimming pool.  As well as this, there is a sportsground a short distance away with further facilities for football, cricket, netball and many more sports.

Welfare

Emmanuel College has a dedicated Welfare Team that seeks to support its student population as much as possible.  Each student is assigned a tutor who they can go to for advice and support.  A College Counsellor and a College Nurse are on site to provide care for both general and mental health.  Emmanuel College also has advisors for both BAME students and female students to provide support.

Miscellaneous
